Artist Nicola Bolla recreates ordinary and not-so-ordinary objects out of Swarovski crystals. For instance while one sculpture involves the average soccer ball, another one is much more intricate, forming a gravity-defying man. Of course, even the soccer ball is intricate considering that she managed to follow the traditional hexagon pattern of such sports equipment.
Nicola Bolla collaborated with photographer Sergio Alfrendini to produce this series of photos documenting his glittering Swaroviski crystal-covered sculptures. Nicola takes sometimes-sinister objects and coats them in the sparkling crystals. Placed in haunting and dark scenes, the photographs accentuate the disturbing but glamorous nature of the sculptures.
