Amazon wants you reading articles on Kindle, not websites

Send to Kindle websites
Depending on your reading habits, many of you may be using a service that allows you to save/bookmark and read website articles at a later time, usually with nicer formatting. Popular services include Pocket, Instapaper, and my personal favorite Pinboard.in.
Amazon has realized the growing popularity of such apps and services, and decided to get in on the act. But instead of offering up a web interface for reading, you can now send articles directly to yourKindle.
Amazon is doing this by introducing a Send to Kindle button websites can integrate into their site navigation and social features. One click of the button by a user will see the content sent to your one or more Kindle devices for reading later on at your convenience. You’ll also then benefit from reading off the E Ink display rather than a bright LCD–preferable for longer articles. Alternatively, you can read using the Kindle app on any supported devices.
How popular this becomes is all down to websites taking the time to integrate the functionality. Amazon has made this super simple for WordPress sites by offering it as a plugin. For other sites, there’s a dedicated page where you can customize how the Send to Kindle button looks before generating some widget code for you to drop in.
This isn’t actually a new idea for Amazon. They already use the Send to Kindle feature for content in your browser, on your desktop, for Android devices, and even emails. But having it available on major websites at the click of a button is sure to increase its popularity if you do indeed own a Kindle device or use the app.
