The fancy Executive Keyboard has mechanical typewriter keys

Keyboard
How much would you pay for a really, really pretty keyboard? Odds are whatever number you’re thinking of is not high enough to afford this wonderful Executive Keyboard by Datamancer currently for sale on Etsy. It’s got an aluminum body, mechanical switches, and typewriter keys — all for the low price of $750 plus shipping.
This is a hand-crafted keyboard with a sturdy polished aluminum shell. The default layout is a standard US ANSI 104-key QWERTY, but European layouts are also available. The keys in that layout are the real centerpiece of this input device. All the keys are done in the style of antique typewriter keys. They look marvelous. On the more utilitarian side, this is a USB keyboard that should work with any PC or Mac, but it does have a slick cloth cable cover.

It would be a real bummer if these keys were backed by the same old mushy switches you get in most modern keyboards. Datamancer was, however, smart enough to go all out and use high-qualitymechanical switches. These switches are much more durable, often lasting millions of presses before failure. They also have a great tactile feel and clicky feedback.
The product listing on Etsy is just for one version of the Executive Keyboard. On the Datamancer site, there are additional handmade keyboards that can be customized to your heart’s content. You can spend well over $1,000 on a tricked-out retro keyboard if you want. If you’ve got a lot of spare cash, and want a very well-made keyboard, maybe this beauty is it. Only nine are for sale on Etsy at the time of writing, so act fast.
